The Snowy Heron, or White Egret is a classic Audubon image.

Painted near Charleston, South Carolina in 1832. It is actually Monk’s Corner, with Rice Plantation in the background.

This is one of the few illustrations that depict Audubon in the background – he is in the lower right corner coming up over the hill.

The heron is shown in full breeding plumage.

This image pairs well with the Blue Crane, Purple Heron, or Louisiana Heron which are all horizontal to the Snowy Heron’s vertical.

This Princeton Edition was printed on heavy, acid free, museum quality paper using specially designed archival inks. It is a fine art edition strictly limited to 1500 prints. All Princetons are hand numbered and bear an embossed seal in the lower margin of the print.
