Description
Audubon saw these birds only once, off the coast of Labrador in August 1833. according to his journals, this was one of the most difficult drawings ever made, due to what he called “disagreeable circumstances”. He had stayed up all night drawing, it was raining really hard, and his original watercolor of this falcon got wet.
Quite a beautiful and dramatic image.
